MapLeads (“MapLeads,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a lead-generation platform that extracts and enriches business listing data from Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Bing Maps, and delivers it through a web dashboard and a developer API. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from you as a user of MapLeads, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials (or, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us).
Billing information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We receive your subscription plan, billing history, and limited payment metadata (such as card type and last four digits) from Stripe — we do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
Usage and search data. We collect the search queries you run (e.g. keyword and location), the scrape jobs you create, API requests, and the export files you generate, so we can execute and deliver those jobs.
Extracted business data. The core of the service is publicly available business listing data — business names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, and, where discoverable, emails and social profiles — sourced from Google Maps, Apple Maps, Bing Maps, and the public websites those listings link to. This data describes businesses, not you as an individual user of MapLeads.
Technical and log data. Like most web services, we automatically log IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, and pages visited, for security, debugging, and analytics purposes.
Cookies. We use essential cookies for authentication and session management, and limited analytics cookies to understand product usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the MapLeads dashboard and API;
- Process subscription payments, trials, upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations;
- Send transactional emails (billing receipts, job completion, security notices);
- Monitor for fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service (e.g. credential sharing or scraping abuse);
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
- Improve reliability and performance of the extraction and enrichment pipeline; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis (for example, under the EU or UK GDPR), we process your account and billing information under the bases of contractual necessity (to provide the service you signed up for), legitimate interest (fraud prevention, product improvement), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records). Where required, we rely on your consent for optional analytics or marketing communications, which you may withdraw at any time.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers who help us run MapLeads — Stripe (payments), our cloud hosting and database providers, transactional email providers, and residential/proxy infrastructure providers used to run map extraction jobs;
- Legal and safety authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MapLeads, our users, or the public; and
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy or a materially equivalent one.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and billing information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to satisfy accounting, tax, and legal obligations. Your dashboard retains scrape job history and exports according to your plan's activity history window (see Pricing); older job history and export files may be deleted or archived after that window closes. You can request deletion of your account data at any time by contacting us (see Section 12).
6. International Data Transfers
MapLeads and its infrastructure providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable data protection law.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most account details directly from your dashboard settings, or email [email protected] to exercise these rights. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and hosting with reputable cloud providers — to protect the data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Third-Party Sites and Data Sources
MapLeads extracts publicly listed business information from Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Bing Maps, and enriches it using publicly available web sources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party platforms or of the business websites we reference — their own privacy policies govern any data they collect directly from you.
10. Children's Privacy
MapLeads is a business tool intended for professional use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify active account holders by email or through an in-app notice before the change takes effect. Continued use of MapLeads after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy or requests regarding your data can be sent to [email protected].
